So I guess I should say something

About it being Hispanic Heritage Month. Woo hoo!!!

Of course every day around me is a Latino party.

It's also Dia de la Independencia de Mexico ( I know some of you gringos and others were thinking it was Cinco de Mayo).

I got a call yesterday answering the question why Mexican Independence Day is not to be celebrated in Cinco De Mayo, and the US's heritage commercialization with the former.

Days that are widely celebrated in Mexico, like December 12, November 1st and 2nd, and September 16 aren't even covered at all in our pop culture but there comes Cinco De Mayo and fiestas everywhere, kids dancing in school to Mariachi in colorful regional clothing, and the heritage is the theme to businesses to sell whatever, beer or what have you. In Mexico, Cinco De Mayo is like every other day.
